I wanted to create a tribute piece to one of my Icons, the Masterful Gordon Parks. I wanted to take two iconic photographs and combine them into one narrative. The decision to paint a Reversed Image of Colored Entrance came from a short survey I conducted by sending the image in reverse to a few friends. I noticed they all said, thats one of my favs, but hadn't noticed the photograph had been flipped. I wanted to imagine Gordon's perspective. The photo of Gordon Parks himself was painted monochromatic to amplify not only the image in the lens but also the word COLORED.
